Kidney Care for Your Kid
Your child’s kidneys are like soldiers — taking down waste and marching important hormones out to the body. So it’s important to protect the battalion with a team that understands their role in the fight. You can find the back-up support your child needs with pediatric nephrology care at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Hewell Kids’ Kidney Center.
Since 2011, our pediatric kidney center has helped infants, children and adolescents receive accurate diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of kidney conditions. We specialize in helping the smallest of patients with end-stage kidney disease, metabolic bone disease, acute kidney failure in newborns, obesity-related kidney disorders, systemic lupus nephritis, kidney transplantation and more.
When you visit Orlando Health Arnold Palmer, your child will work with our team of experts that includes board-certified pediatric nephrologists, nurse practitioners, renal nurses, nutritionists and social workers. We offer a child-friendly environment with three exam rooms, one consultation room, four dialysis bays, along with family and play areas so your child feels comfortable throughout their visit.
Treatments to Meet Your Child’s Needs

Advanced Treatment Options
If your child has end-stage kidney disease and is awaiting kidney transplantation, we strive to ease the burden of care. Through our home Peritoneal Dialysis Program, your child can receive dialysis without having to make the sometimes stressful trip to the hospital. Our unit is continually accepting new patients into the program.
While we do not provide kidney transplantation at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer, we are able to provide post-transplant care. If your child has kidney transplantation, you can find access to the expertise of our nutritionists and social workers during our weekly transplant clinic.
